Biography

Andrew Duncan is an entertainment attorney focused exclusively on non-scripted film and  television. He represents production companies, producers, and on-screen talent nationwide, advising on development, production, and delivery with an approach grounded in both legal precision and production reality.

Andrew brings more than a decade of senior-level business and legal affairs experience across premium documentary, docuseries, reality, competition formats, branded content, and live event programming. Prior to founding his practice, he served as Counsel at Endeavor, advising the company's original content subsidiaries across a wide-ranging slate of unscripted projects produced for leading global platforms including Amazon, ESPN, Netflix, A24, Apple TV+, Disney+, and National Geographic. His work supported high-volume, multi-project production entities operating at significant scale, with projects distributed internationally and subject to rigorous network and streamer standards.

Previously, Andrew led Business and Legal Affairs for Prettybird and its original content arm, Ventureland—an organization generating over $50 million in annual revenue and widely recognized within the industry for award-winning commercial and original content. In that capacity, he worked directly with executive producers on premium nonfiction and documentary projects placed with top-tier distributors and studios. His responsibilities included structuring complex rights arrangements, overseeing clearance strategy, and guiding productions through delivery under network review.

Across his in-house leadership roles, Andrew built and managed legal infrastructure supporting large production slates, including more than one hundred commercial and branded campaigns as well as long-form nonfiction series and award winning documentary features. His experience includes coordination with insurers, business affairs executives, guild representatives, and outside counsel to ensure projects aligned with evolving industry standards and regulatory expectations.

Earlier in his career, Andrew worked in production and development, including producing and story analysis roles. That creative foundation continues to inform his counsel today. He understands how projects evolve, how timelines compress under pressure, and how legal strategy must remain aligned with both creative intent and commercial objectives.

Andrew holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law, a B.A. from UCLA in Film and Television, as well as a Producing Certificate in Film and Television from UCLA Extension. He is based in Los Angeles and represents clients nationally.  His practice is intentionally focused and selective, designed to support sophisticated non-scripted projects with discretion, strategic alignment, and an understanding of the standards expected by leading networks and platforms.
